Trend Micro - The Threat a Virus Hates

I don't want to get too technical on this but it is so important that you read every word here in this article. 20 million (that's 20,000,000) online security threats GROWING at three thousand (3000) a DAY! And you think security is not an issue?

Don't worry you are not alone. Just because a virus or Trojan horse or worm has not got to your IT system does not mean that you are protected. It more than likely means that you have been overlooked for now. Please don't be scared but so called cyber criminals are making a fortune at the expense of legitimate business owners such as you. Their activities range from out and out theft of your data to sell on. To taking over your computers to send junk e-mail (SPAM) from. Sending SPAM is a criminal offense; if it is traced to your PC then you are guilty. Yes, it will show as having been sent from your PC. These guys have to cover their tracks to remain in business.

As for them stealing your business data, identity theft is one of the fastest growing crimes today. Governments are pushing ever increasing levels of law covering data storage and access t it. So loss of that is certainly also a criminal offense.

Your PC contracting a malicious code (malware) is as simple as opening a web page! One click and bam it is done! In fact anything that contains any type of code can be used to hide and carry the malware. Including online video players.

You may well now be saying I know all this and I am protected by my anti-virus. Good for you, no really I am pleased. My issue arises when sales men do their job and sell a security suite to businesses that may have been what was needed THEN but what about now. Is it still adequate? Usually not as the figures further down demonstrate.

Your business may have grown, the threats have evolved and these are just two possibilities out of thousands.

When deciding on a security suite in my opinion the only thing that should be asked to be proven is "Are they the industry leader!" If not walk away is my advice.

Why? Because threats online change to rapidly to consider using anything that comes second or below. Trend Micro is consistently the front runner in IT security. They have in test after test from independent sources out preformed ALL other providers on IT security suites. It is a fact to say that they prevent 96.4% of all threats. That is nearly 10% higher than the next best, and nearly 16% better than third place.

To go into how Trend Micro works would be very technical and would not be off assistance for you here. It is fair to say that their system prevents any type of malware from getting into your IT system by dealing with it on the Internet. Also it prevents certain websites being opened if they are known to be a threat. You can also set up parameters to allow access to certain websites only. Meaning that a laptop can only be used for business purposes and not personal entertainment. Also provided are full e-mail filtering and protection as well as firewall.

This can either be managed by your business or remotely by a Trend Micro partner. These are licensed companies that remotely or on site manage the Trend Micro software. This brings total peace of mind and convenience.

If there was one thing for you to take away from reading this it is that you should go and look a lot more closely at Trend Micro and the service it provides. As someone that has experience in being infected there is only one solution for me now as there should be for you. So is to be the best (96.4%) or second best (87.8%) that is the question and I know what my answer would be.
